Authorities said they were called about an armed person on the 500 block of Church Lane around 6:30 p.m. While en route, a second caller in the area said their business had been robbed.
Police spotted a man matching the suspect description and watched him flee while stuffing a shotgun in his waistband, the department said. He was arrested "without major incident," authorities said.
Officers said the man had cash and a 12 gauge pump shotgun with a pistol grip. Further investigation revealed he robbed a second business on the same block within a minute of the first stick-up, according to police.
Detectives say he's also a suspect in a third robbery around 9:30 a.m. on the 1000 block of Church Lane.
He was identified as James L. Coker and charged with felony robbery and related counts, the department said. Coker was unable to post 10 percent of his $250,000 bail and is awaiting his preliminary hearing on March 12, court records show.
